Ted Lai

Ted Lai is a veteran teacher and educational technology advocate. He is currently an Education Development Executive with Apple, Inc., but has a long history in school districts. After two years performing educational school assemblies, he worked as a classroom teacher for eight years. He left the classroom to train educators on strategies and best practices for transforming teaching and learning with technology. Prior to joining Apple, he was most recently the Director of Technology & Media Services at Fullerton School District, home of Robert C. Fisler School (a 1:1 laptop Apple Distinguished School) and Valencia Park Elementary (a 1:1 mobile device Apple Distinguished Program). Honored as an Apple Distinguished Educator in 2003, a GarageBand Advocate, an M-Audio M-Powered Educator, “Best of CUE” speaker 2010, and one of the “Best of NECC” presenters in both 2006 and 2007, Ted has been a featured speaker at local, regional, and national conferences, and he has led sessions on educational uses for podcasting, mobile devices, video, audio, GarageBand, and the rest of the iLife suite. A self-described "presentaholic," Ted is also the co-author of The Macintosh iLife in the Classroom series with Jim Heid. Ted is married to Trang Lai (ADE Class of 2007), and they have two children, Zoe and Genevieve.
